On September 16, 2018, Oakwood University student Carvell Goodlow was shot and killed at an off-campus location. In a special video announcement about Goodlow’s death, Dr. Les Pollard, president of Oakwood, described him as a bright spirit on campus with a bright future before him.

On September 11, 2018, the eighth annual 9/11 Table of Silence Project Memorial Tribute took place on the Josie Robertson Plaza, Lincoln Center in New York City. Over 150 dancers participated in the performance this year.

Designer clothing stores and luxury pen makers separated by golden sconces and grand columns line the street level.
