1. Two Loma Linda University graduates are keeping Cooper Adventist Hospital in Liberia operational, while most other hospitals have closed because of the threat of Ebola in that region of West Africa.  A government-run hospital in Monrovia will receive any patients who may have the deadly virus, but the Adventist hospital is the only place to go for any other care.

2. The film “My Father,” created by a Chinese Adventist media team, won a bronze eagle award at the Chinese Gospel Short Film Competition in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 8.   The 11-minute movie, showing a father’s love for his contrary son, competed with 65 other films.

3. Southern Adventist University now holds the title “tamest party school” in Tennessee. According to the website ecollegefinder.org, SAU was rated first in its state for not having a “raging party scene.” President Gordon Bietz said he did not find the title a liability.
