Time for a Room with a View

As summer flows into fall, what could be a better way to spend a weekend than at the beach in San Diego? That’s what Adventist Forum will be doing October 3-5, and we’ll be staying at the San Diego Sheraton Marina Hotel. I tell you this because the deadline for hotel reservations at the special conference rate is September 3. It’s time to make that reservation.

If you would like to know more about the hotel, of course you can check out its website and Yelp reviews. But when reading Yelp, I am always struck by the extreme comments the writers make. Either the reviewer gushes to the point of making you wonder if it is the owners’ closest friend, or he/she is so nasty you can understand why the staff person may not have responded to the demands in just the way they wanted.

On the website of the San Diego Sheraton Marina Hotel, I found a new way of gauging customer satisfaction: the guest photo gallery from Instagram.

Six hundred twenty-seven photos stand as testimonials of recent experiences at the hotel — some as recent as yesterday’s sunrise. Arranged chronologically they date back to November of 2013, so one can see the fireworks from the guests who were there over the 4th of July, foodie favorites, the Marina, the view from a room shot with the guest’s toes in the foreground.

I invite you to check out these photos, and book a room for October 3-5. We will meet in the beautiful Fairbanks Room to share and discuss the Great Adventist stories: the Great Disappointment, the Great Controversy, and the Great Hope.

Again, the deadline for hotel registration at our special conference rate ($149 a night) is September 3.  It’s going to be a great weekend in San Diego. And I do believe that all rooms have a water view. Make your reservation here and see more about conference rates and registration here.
