The North American Division Asks for Your Prayers

George Johnson Jr., Director of Communication for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America sent out the following message today:

NAD Family:

Most of you all know that at Annual Council [starting next weekend], GC administration will announce what they plan to do because of the various unions decisions to ordain without regard to gender. At this time, our leader, Dan Jackson, could use our prayers at this very minute! Pray for him and the rest of the leaders of our church as they continue in these meetings prior to annual council and as a decision is reached.

Some time ago I was sitting in what quite possibly was the most boring church service I have ever been in. (No, I won’t tell you where I was.) There couldn’t have been more than 50 people in the sanctuary, and I’m being generous. We sang no less than 5 hymns. All hymns were sung in a dry, slow manner. The sermon seemed uninspired, barely prepared, and was presented with no sense of conviction. It felt like we were in church for three hours. We were in church for about 70 minutes.
