Introducing the Spectrum Online Book & Film Club
Mark Twain once said, “Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.” While the sleepy conscience bit is a tad hedonistic for good Pathfinders, we are going to take his advice on good books and friends! As part of our continued commitment to community through conversation, we’re launching the Spectrum Online Book & Film Club.
I’ve gone through our past blog posts about favorite books and films and solicited suggestions from many of you to find the specific titles and themes that seemed to most interest us, trying to find a balance between current and classic, devotional and scholarly, Adventist and beyond. Here’s the list of books and films for our first twelve months. (We’ll continue to do book and film reviews in between club selections, so keep sending along your ideas for other good titles you’d like to see reviewed on the site.)
All of the film titles are available on DVD for purchase or rental. Please consider supporting Spectrum’s online efforts by purchasing books and films through our Amazon affiliate account (just use the links or Amazon search box below).
You’ll notice that the book & film club discussions will start on the last Thursday of every month. If any of you want to volunteer to help facilitate a discussion on a book or film you’re particularly fond of, let me know. Happy reading & viewing!
Looking forward to some great conversations,
