The Cohutta Springs Youth Camp in the Georgia-Cumberland Conference of Seventh-day Adventists announced Tuesday on the camp’s Facebook page the death of a long-time staff member:

It is with deep sadness we share that Will Green, long time Cohutta Springs Youth Camp staff member and wakeboard professional, died last night from a wakeboard accident that took place off-site at Carters Lake during wakeboard camp.

Will was from Sanford, Fla. The past few summers he had served as a wakeboard instructor during wakeboard camp.

Will was a wakeboard competition winner. He recently won the 2015 USA Wakeboard Collegiate Nationals, he also took third place in the 2014 USA Wakeboard Nationals, and first place in the Men B USA Wakeboard Florida Regionals.

“Will was one of the most genuine Christian young men. We were so blessed to have him share his talents with us at Cohutta,” says Rob Lang, Cohutta Springs Youth Camp director. The Cohutta Springs Youth Camp provides youth a safe Christian setting for friendship, recreation, wholesome living, and spiritual growth.

Our hearts are heavy with grief, and we are praying that God brings comfort and peace to the family and all those involved.

Today, Cohutta Springs updated its Facebook page with the following image in honor of Green:
