Steve Yeagley: “The Bond of Peace: Restoring Souls in Worship Amid Culture War and Moral Injury” at CZSS

(9:30 a.m. Pacific / 11:30 a.m. central / 12:30 p.m. eastern)

Steve Yeagley will present "The Bond of Peace: Restoring Souls in Worship Amid Culture War and Moral Injury" for the Choir Zoom Sabbath School at Pacific Union College on Saturday, July 8.

This presentation establishes a connection between war and worship. It then examines the link between America’s war culture and its culture wars before describing emerging discourses of moral injury in veteran and civilian life. Lastly, it considers how we might respond to morally wounded souls in worship using a prophetic lens and the virtue ethics of Paul.

Dr. Yeagley serves as Associate Vice President of University Culture and Inclusion at Andrews University and adjunct professor of youth evangelism at the Seventh-day Adventist Seminary. In this latter role, he has taught the course "Youth and Young Adults in Contemporary Culture" for two decades, reflecting his academic interests in faith development, youth culture, media literacy, and emerging forms of worship and ministry.
