“Adventist Music in the 1870s” by Ashley Castro-Rodriguez at CZSS
(9:30 a.m. Pacific / 11:30 a.m. central / 12:30 p.m. eastern)
Ashley Castro-Rodriguez will present for the Choir Zoom Sabbath School at Pacific Union College on May 20.
A sophomore at Pacific Union College studying theology, Ashley was recently re-elected as Student Association religious vice president. She created her presentation for Laura Wibberding’s class in Adventist heritage. The assignment was to study the Adventist archives to learn what Adventists believed and practiced on a chosen topic in a specific decade of church history. As a result of this assignment, Ashley has learned to enjoy archival research and to think more deeply about the role of music in the church.
Laura Ochs Wibberding will introduce Ashley and her project. Laura is an assistant professor of theology, history, psychology and social work at PUC.
