Protest, Resistance, and the Rise of “Neo-Adventism”—Choir Zoom Sabbath School
(9:30 a.m. Pacific Time)
Gilbert Valentine will be presenting at the Choir Zoom Sabbath School on April 9: “Protest, Resistance, and the Rise of ‘Neo-Adventism.’ ”
Dr. Valentine, recently retired from La Sierra University, is an Adventist historian who has authored almost eighty scholarly articles or book chapters, and is noted for The Prophet and the Presidents (2011), a groundbreaking study that examined the political influence that Ellen White’s letters had on various General Conference Presidents. His recent biography of John Nevins Andrews (2019) provides a revealing study of the social, psychological, and religious world of early Seventh-day Adventism. Gil is married to New Testament scholar Kendra Haloviak Valentine.
