Faith and Reason Zoom Sabbath School Dec. 30

This Sabbath, December 30, 2023, the Faith and Reason Sabbath School at the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church welcomes Dr. James Gulley. His presentation is “Immunotherapy for Cancer: There’s Power in the Blood!”

James Gulley will discuss cancer and the amazing immune system that has prompted new treatment options and areas of research. Cancer immunotherapy has fundamentally changed the way we treat some cancers allowing for cancer cures in some cases of advanced cancer.   

But is this really a Sabbath School topic?  Why not?  If God can love the world through Sligo (and maybe Faith and Reason!) then why not also through the National Cancer Institute where James is the Clinical Director and an internationally recognized expert in cancer immunotherapy?

Dr. Gulley has authored more than 350 scientific papers and run a variety of clinical trials at the NCI. He is also the Co-Director of the Center for Immuno-Oncology. He earned both his M.D. and Ph.D. at Loma Linda University. Besides teaching Kindergarten Sabbath School, he is also Sligo’s head elder.  

Socializing begins at 9:30 A.M. Eastern and Sabbath School starts at 10:00.
