Choir Zoom Sabbath School—“Dumb” Creatures in God’s Image
(9:30 a.m. Pacific Time)
Roy Benton will be presenting at the Choir Zoom Sabbath School on March 12: “Dumb” Creatures in God’s Image: The Case for Animal Consideration from Scripture, Philosophy, and Adventist History
Dr. Benton taught philosophy and mathematics for 40 years, 14 at Pacific Union College and, before that, Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University). He graduated from Andrews University with a math major and religion minor. He earned a PhD in philosophy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, specializing in mathematical logic and the philosophy of mathematics. He is officially retired but currently teaches part time at Walla Walla University, where his wife Cynthia Westerbeck is a professor of English. He loves his cats and has gained a healthy respect for the wilder animals he has encountered in his outdoor adventures.
