Choir Zoom Sabbath School Jan. 13, 2024

Dr. Katrina Blue will present this Sabbath, Jan. 13 at the Choir Zoom Sabbath School. Her topic will be Hattie André (1865-1952), who served in education and worked for the Seventh-day Adventist church for over sixty years. The gathering begins at 9:30 AM PST.

André was one of the first two women to serve as Adventist missionaries. She willingly engaged in overseas work (on Pitcairn Island) when nobody knew the conditions she would encounter as a single woman in a foreign land, or whether she would ever see family and friends again. André spent her life in the formative moments of Oakwood Industrial School, the Australasian Missionary College in Australia, then Pacific Union College, and finally at Hinsdale School.

Dr. Katrina Blue is associate professor of Theology and Christian Spirituality at Pacific Union College. She has an honors degree in Politics from Monash University, two masters degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Andrews University. She has two longhaired dachshunds, Henri (a black and tan) and Lacey (an English cream) and two budgies, Madelyn and Sebastian, and is married to David.
