Los Angeles Adventist Forum: Denis Fortin, PhD, professor of historical theology.

Topic: "Church Organization in Times of Conflict"

IMPORTANT: This meeting will be held on Zoom. If you would like to attend, please email  alexander@spectrummagazine.org to sign up and receive a link.

Church organization in times of conflict: A presentation of the major models of church governance and the fact that ours is predominantly episcopal (centralized) and does not really need lay participation. In part, this explains the conflict we had a few years ago with compliance committees and why/how this conflict could have arisen.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Denis Fortin has served in many roles at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University, most recently as dean (2006 to 2013). He brings a wealth of experience in international pastoral and teaching ministry, as well as expertise in early Adventist movements in Canada. Something fun about Dr. Fortin—he and his wife, Kris, walked the pilgrimage route, The Way of St. James (500 miles) to Santiago de Compostela, Spain in Spring 2019.
