Birthday Celebration! Sydney Adventist Forum Turns 40

9.30 am - 4.30 pm, Castle Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church
Saturday, February 14

Celebrate 40 years of Sydney Adventist Forum. Australian-born Dr Ronald Lawson established Sydney Adventist Forum in 1980. Lawson served as Professor of Sociology in the Department of Urban Studies at Queens College, City University of New York, at the time. Adventist Forums were established in several centres across Australia, but Sydney Adventist Forum, alone, continued to create community through conversation. It still does so today.

Presenters: Dr Kendra Haloviak-Valentine, Professor of New Testament Studies, HMS Richards Divinity School, La Sierra University; Dr Gilbert Valentine, Author, The Prophet and the Presidents (Pacific Press Publishing Association, 2011), a study of the political influence of Seventh-day Adventist pioneer Ellen White, and J N Andrews: Mission Pioneer, Evangelist, and Thought Leader (Pacific Press Publishing Association, 2019), a biography of Adventism’s first official missionary, and; Dr Lynden Rogers, President, Sydney Adventist Forum
