San Diego Forum: Lawrence Downing

Fall 2019 Meeting with Lawrence Downing

Waymarks along the journey include: coming to terms with "unique" SDA theology, becoming "friends" with EGW, making "peace" with SDA ecclesiology, reconfiguring an understanding of "Truth," evolving roles of the "disenfranchised," threatenings to the scholarly community, affirming the role of the parish and looking forward.
Date and Time:
November 23, 2019
3:00 p.m.
Location:
Paradise Village Retirement Community
Liberty Hall
2700 E 4th Street
National City, CA 91950

Special Note:
Larry's presentation is intentionally scheduled to coincide with the American Schools or Oriental Research's annual conference held in downtown San Diego this year. Adventist scholars attending the conference typically hold additional meetings focused on issues of interest to our faith community.
The theme of the Adventist meetings this year is "1919 and Its Impact on a Century of Religious and Social Transformation." SDAF members are invited to attend the Adventist scholars meetings and we hope the Adventist scholars will join us Sabbath afternoon for Dr. Downing's presentation.
More information about the time and place of the Adventist scholars meetings will be available in the SDAF October Newsletter.
