Asheville Forum: Brian Bull

The Asheville Adventist Forum Chapter presents:

Dr. Brian Bull presenting on the topic “Harmonizing Genesis and Science: Explanacepts and Retrotranslation

Date, time, and location:

October 26, 2019

2:30 p.m.

172 Asheland Ave, Asheville. Dental waiting room of Dr Dennis Campbell

About the Topic:

We wish it were otherwise, but there is no getting around the fact that there is a profound disconnect between science (as commonly understood) and Genesis (as usually read) — a disconnect that has existed for 500 years. This conversation is about Genesis 1 — or, more precisely, Genesis 1:1 to 2:4a, which is what will always be meant by “Genesis 1.”

About the Speaker:

Brian Bull, MD, is a professor in the Loma Linda University Medical School. He has served as Chair of the department of Pathology and Human Anatomy, Dean of the Medical School, and editor-in-chief of Blood Cells, an international hematology journal. He has authored 200 scientific articles, book chapters, and monographs. He and Dr. Fritz Guy, research professor of philosophical theology at La Sierra University, have authored a trilogy of books, God, Sky, and Land: Genesis 1 as the Ancient Hebrews Heard It, God, Land, and the Great Flood: Hearing the Story with 21st-Century Ears, and a third volume now in press, all published by Adventist Forum.
