Faith and the Political Process

By Alexander Carpenter
I helped with research for this issue of the Progressive Christian Witness.
It
contains some of the best prophetic voices on the
integration of faith and American public life. The brief articles – by Cox,
Obama, Danforth, Boyd, Chittister, Moyers, et al –  are pointed and
thoughtful.
If an article gets you thinking, feel free to write,
preach, or talk about it with friends. And please forward this onto
Christians you know who just might vote or express an opinion.
I’m
tired of the Iraq disaster, the cynical use of , the denial of climate and embryonic stem cell science, and the use of
discrimination and poverty to leverage power. Perhaps I’m just naive,
but my faith gives me hope in a better world and that’s why I care
about – and am voting for – progress this November.
Feel free to leave a comment below with the top three issues that you care about this election season.
