How to Discourse: Signing Up

To get started with Spectrum Conversation, you first need a MySpectrum account. This is very easy to do. 

Navigate to Spectrum Conversation. You’ll see a blue button that says ‘Log In’. Click it.

You’ll be taken to a page that looks like this.

Here is where you’ll login after you’ve created an account. But for now, click the big link that says ‘Register Now’. You’ll be taken to a page that looks like this.

Here is where we ask for your name–we strongly encourage the use of your Full Name–and for your email and the password you would like to use. Once you click ‘Sign Up’, you’ll be redirected to Spectrum Conversation.

You’ll see your name on the top right, as well as a menus that give you access to further Discourse features that I’ll outline below.

You’ll also see a list of conversations taking place, and a list of filters that let you order these conversations. I think you’ll find the ‘Unread’ filter helpful in keeping track of conversations you’ve missed while you were away.
