The Azure Hills Church in Grand Terrace California is hosting a three-month series on Adventist history entitled “The Advent Movement: Progress or Regress?” In the presentation below from March 8, Warren Johns discusses Ellen White’s scientific claims–their derivation, their accuracy and their evolution (no pun intended). Questions dealt with: Does Ellen White offer the church today a “textbook on science”? Can inspired writings have scientific errors without undermining their inspiration? What role should Ellen White play in the church today, especially as it faces controversies over origins?

The lecture is broken into two parts. The second portion includes a Q&A with moderator Trevan Osborn.

(See other videos from the lecture series here.)

Upcoming topics in this series:

April 5: Military Service—Ron Osborn
