The following communiqué from the desk of Geoffrey Mbwana, general vice president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, was forwarded to Spectrum today.

Dear ADRA Employees:

I am writing to each of you today as Chairman of the ADRA Board. Over the past few days rumors have been circulating regarding the continued leadership of Dr. Rudi Maier as President of ADRA. While no decision for change in leadership of ADRA has been made at this time, a meeting of the Board of Directors of ADRA has been called for June 24, 2012 here in Silver Spring. The purpose of the meeting is to review the current direction of the organization and to review the leadership of ADRA.

Let me assure each of you that the Board of Directors remains committed to ADRA’s mission and its employees and is dedicated to this Organization’s continued success. We need to ensure that our focus as a leading development and relief organization remains our fundamental goal and all our energies and resources are all focused in that direction without detraction.

As we move forward during this period I urge each of you to pray for God’s guidance so that our Organization can continue to be a leading humanitarian relief Organization.

Geoffrey Mbwana, ADRA Board Chair
