National Bible Bee Game Show Premieres Tonight

Tonight marks the premiere of the second season of the National Bible Bee Game Show. Sponsored by Museum of the Bible and hosted by Kirk Cameron, the show will feature 72 young people, ages 7 to 18, competing for the $270,000 prize.

Heather Boulais Performs with Gymnaires Two Years after Traumatic Brain Injury

During the Union College 2017 Gymnaires Home Show on Saturday evening, April 1, Heather Boulais took to the mats for a special performance. Heather was accompanied by her mother Cheryl and sister Summer for the approximately three-minute routine which ended with a standing ovation and hugs for Heather from fellow Gymnaires.

Victor Marley to Lead Adventist Church in Norway

March 22, 2017 | Victor Marley has been elected by the Norwegian Union Executive Committee as the new leader of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Norway. This follows the March 15 resignation of Reidar J. Kvinge, enabling him to focus more directly on evangelism.

Hacksaw Ridge Producers Headline 2017 Sonscreen Film Festival

Two producers of the Academy Award-winning biopic “Hacksaw Ridge” will headline the 2017 Sonscreen Film Festival in Loma Linda, California. Former chair and CEO of 20th Century Fox Bill Mechanic and Terry Benedict, director of the Desmond T. Doss documentary “The Conscientious Objector,” will discuss the 2017 Oscar winner and their work in the film industry.

General Conference Corporation Sues Pathfinder Shirts LLC

The General Conference Corporation of Seventh-day Adventists has sued a small Florida-based company, Pathfinder Shirts, LLC, over what the General Conference says is unauthorized use of the Adventist Church’s trademarks. The General Conference is not seeking monetary damages but seeks to stop Pathfinder Shirts from selling products emblazoned with church logos.

Adventist Survey Reveals Broad Support for Ordination of Female Pastors

The ordination of female pastors in the Adventist church is one of the most controversial and divisive issues of our day. Vigorous and sometimes fierce debate has dominated agendas and consumed the time and energy of church administrators, pastors, educators, and church members. Over time, the “official debate” has resulted in official decisions and further meetings to manage the conflict surrounding the debate. Efforts to deal effectively with the issue have gone on for decades and spanned two generations.

St. Helena Hospital Renamed Adventist Health St. Helena – News Shorts

St. Helena Hospital Renamed Adventist Health St. Helena. St. Helena Hospital has been renamed Adventist Health St. Helena and has adopted a new mission statement. The name will align St. Helena with 21 Adventist Health hospitals on the West Coast, covering Oregon, Washington, California and Oahu. According to Steven Herber, the hospital's president and CEO, the new mission statement, "broadens our focus from solely caring for the sick to helping communities be healthier.

Unity 2017 Conference Announced

A three-day conference, organized by 10 Seventh-day Adventist unions from across the globe, was announced this week. Scheduled for June 15-17, 2017 in London, the conference is “devoted to exploring the unity in diversity within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”

The 10 unions involved represent four of the 13 world divisions (Inter-European Division, North American Division, South Pacific Division, and Trans-European Division).
