The LA Adventist Forum meets the fourth Sabbath of the month at 3:30 p.m. at the Glendale City SDA Church, in The Chapel of the Good Shepherd.

Our first meeting was August 23, and the speaker was Ryan Bell, Senior Pastor of the Hollywood SDA Church. His topic was "Missional Church; Recovering Evangelism as an Authentic, Credible Witness." The meeting was well attended, with about 60 people, from a varied area of Southern California, including Lancanster, Thousand Oaks, White Memorial SDA Church, Vallejo Drive SDA Church, Burbank, etc.

The next meeting is September 27, 2008 at 3:30. The speaker will be Dr. Mark Carr of the Dept. of Religion of LLU. His topic, "Engaging the Other; Are we Ready for a More Inclusive Faith." He will include experiences from his trip to Turkey and the Mid-East, highlighting contact with Islamic people who are interested in dialog with Christians and others.

The October 25 meeting will be presenting Dr. John Brunt, Senior Pastor of the Azure Hills SDA Church. His topic, "Lamb or Beast; Reading Revelation in the First and Twenty-first Centuries."

We may not meet in November and December because the fourth Sabbaths of those months are close to the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.

In January, the speaker will be Julius Nam, of LLI. His topic has not been disclosed to us yet.
