Asia-Pacific International University has appointed a new president, succeeding Dr. Loren Agrey, as announced in the following release:

Asia-Pacific International University is pleased to welcome Dr. Danny Rantung as our new University President. Dr. Danny was officially welcomed and introduced to the student body during chapel on January 13, 2016. His extensive experience in Adventist higher education as well as his work throughout Southeast Asia makes Dr. Danny an excellent fit for Asia-Pacific International University.

Remembering Nicholas Culver in Images

Freshman general studies major Nicholas Culver was found unresponsive in Sierra Towers, the men's dormitory on the campus of La Sierra University, on Tuesday, December 8. Paramedics were called, but were unable to revive him. On Tuesday evening, La Sierra University stopped amid finals week to remember Culver in a time of prayer and story sharing.

Dr. Delbert Baker Accepts Call to Adventist University of Africa

Dr. Delbert Baker, former president of Oakwood University and General Conference vice president, has accepted a call to serve as the next Vice Chancellor of the Adventist University of Africa. Dr. Baker replaces Brempong Owusu-Antwi, the current Vice Chancellor/President of the Nairobi, Kenya-based institution.

Andrews University Seminary Announces Launch of Student Journal

The Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University has announced the publication of the inaugural edition of the AU Seminary Student Journal. The AUSSJ website describes the venture this way: 

Raw Video - Fire Damages Walla Walla University Apartments

Fire broke out on Sunday, August 23 at the Walla Walla University Mountain View Apartments off campus. According to a statement on the Walla Walla University website, all students were safely evacuated from the building. The apartment complex at 207 Whitman Drive in College Place is owned by Walla Walla University and occupied by students. The complex includes four buildings with four apartments on each of three floors. Only one of the four buildings was affected by the fire.

Niels-Erik Andreasen to Retire as Andrews University President in June 2016

At the end of his State of the University address today with university faculty and staff, and several members of his family present, Andrews University president Niels-Erik Andreasen announced that he would retire when his current term ends in June, 2016. Andrews University issued the following release on its website after the announcement was made:

Walla Walla Prepares to Launch Master's in Media Ministry

The Walla Walla University Department of Communications recently announced a new master’s program in media ministry set to debut in the fall of 2015, contingent on student interest.The newly created master’s program will attempt to close the gap between ministry and media. While early Adventists embraced the popular media of the 1800’s to share the gospel, the church of the 21st century has been slow to encourage mastery of digital communication.
