1. After Collegedale became the first city in Tennessee to offer benefits to same-sex couples, the woman who championed the effort was ousted from her church congregation: the Ridgedale Church of Christ.

2. Dollar General may be liable for firing a manager in New Jersey who refused to work on the Sabbath because he is a Seventh-day Adventist, a federal judge has ruled.

3. The Tanzanian government has granted a charter to the Adventist University of Arusha, giving the Adventist church in the country an institution of higher learning with the highest academic accreditation.
