This book was formative in my Christian journey. Nice to hear him speak.

No need to "search for a god to love." All the Bible writers created their own ideas of God, and why should we be limited by their descriptions. Choose to believe that God is love and then simply reject all man's descriptions that do not harmonize with John 3:16-17.

Don't let others decide for you: Simply adopt the god you choose to love and admire, period.

I read the book many years ago and it was a revelation from what Adventism had taught.

Boy did this book help me! I have probably given away close to 40 and hope to give away more. I have found that many people don't like to read though, and some people think the author "rambles". That's almost always a personality thing with them (they like more straightforward tomes).

I also recommend this book. I have read this book and also took a class from him in college. He has a genuine concern for the students, and does a good job of communicating the gospel to this age.

"Searching for a God to Love" is so thoughtfully and beautifully written...but not everyone will take time to read it. With live audience participation and the ease of watching as a video, this presentation should be attractive to a larger audience. If even a few of the viewers appreciate this message as I have, I think that's tremendous.

I love his introductory statement about stopping at being right. Intransigent conservatism says, "We have the truth. We have no reason to look at anything anyone wants to show us." And that stance is promoted, even from our pulpits, as loyalty to the truth.

This is the first of a 13 part series that alternates between presentation and discussion filmed at the Newbold College week of Prayer this autumn. It is currently being aired on Revelation TV, an ecumenical Christian channel in the UK (Sky Channel 581, Freesat 692) and will also be on Hope Channel Europe within the next couple of weeks. Episodes are also becoming available on a dedicated website in line with their release on Revelation TV. http://www.secadventist.com/searchingforagod/

He looks jet-lagged to me.

So do his "squares."
