Charles Byrd served as a Seventh-day Adventist minister for nearly 30 years, pastoring churches in Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin and the western Pacific island of Saipan. He left pastoral ministry to found QuestLine Productions with his wife, Karen, and create a series of videos for a Bible study series.
The 32nd annual conference of the Association of Adventist Women opened on Thursday night, October 16, with a presentation by keynote speaker Ella Simmons, general vice president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Simmons is the first woman to be voted into one of the GC’s vice president positions — a seat she has held for nearly 10 years.
For the past two-and-a-half days, the Association of Adventist Women has been meeting on the campus of Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. Ella Simmons, first woman general vice president of the world church, was the keynote speaker for the annual conference, with the theme of Women Mentoring Women.
Roy Ice, young adults pastor at Loma Linda University Church, has developed a new baptismal study guide, Enter the Deep, available through the Apple Store. Ice, with a theology degree from Southwestern Adventist University and a postgraduate from the Seminary at Andrews, has pastored in Texas, and at five different posts in California. He has been in Loma Linda for the past year-and-a-half.
Today Atlantic Natural Foods, based in Nashville, North Carolina, announced it has bought the Loma Linda and Worthington brands of canned meat analog products, including FriChick, Choplets, Super-Links, Big Franks and Tender Bits.
