3ABN Publicly Defends Angus Jones’ Conspiracy-Peddling Videographer

The Seventh-day Adventist online video star connected to Angus Jones is becoming the main interest of the media. Reporters have watched his videos after Angus Jones expressed approval of them while sharing how he become an Adventist. As a result, Adventism is being conflated with the conspiracy theories, homophobia, and ignorance of Christopher Hudson, the creator of Forerunner Chronicles. The Daily Beast writes:

In 2009, he gained notoriety after releasing a documentary on YouTube called The Jay-Z Deception, in which he accused the rapper of being a devil-worshipping Freemason. He also has declared masturbation a sin and referred to President Obama’s health-care plan as a “carbon copy” of Hitler’s health-care policies. In a recent scaremongering video, Hudson said New York City’s post-Hurricane Sandy gas shortage was a harbinger of a food-shortage crisis and cannibalism, referencing a “similar” event in the Bible when the city of Jerusalem was seized by the Roman armies in 70 A.D: “It was so severe that women began to cannibalize their own children. Your baby may start looking like a chicken wing.”

The Adventist church has tried to make it clear that Hudson holds not official connection to Seventh-day Adventism beyond his membership. “He’s an independent ministry, not a pastor,” said George Johnson, communications director for the Church’s North American branch. “He has no official ordinance or title with the church.”

But that attempt to keep Hudson from defining Adventism to the millions of people learning about the church through this celebrity story is being undermined by another independent media ministry, Three Angels Broadcasting Network. The Daily Beast called up 3ABN and got the following quote:  “It’s very practical and applies biblical principles to modern-day society,” Yvonne Lewis, general manager of Three Angels Broadcasting’s urban network, told The Daily Beast. “It’s cutting-edge, scripturally-based, and doctrinally sound.” This defense of the self-promoting and Biblical wrong Hudson by 3ABN directly undermines the message of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Spectrum has found the following quote from the May issue of the 3ABN magazine by the same 3ABN general manager: The Lord also directed me to The Forerunner Chronicles with Christopher Hudson on YouTube. At first I was unaware of his church affiliation, but I noticed he backed everything he said from Scripture. Eventually I discovered he was a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, and his program, which receives thousands of hits on YouTube, is a favorite on Dare to Dream! 3ABN also profits by selling DVDs of Hudson’s Forerunner Chronicles.

Unless Three Angels Broadcasting Network publicly distances itself from the un-biblical and conspiracy-peddling Hudson, 3ABN will further disgrace itself and undermine the ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
