Southern Adventist University Reports 14th Year of Enrollment Growth

“According to Joni Zier, Southern’s director of Records and Advisement, the final registration numbers for Fall 2012 show 2,896 undergraduate students and 423 graduate students taking classes. The 3,319 total represent an increase of 119 students from last year, and marks the 14th consecutive year of enrollment growth at the university. Sophomore and junior class retention was key to this year’s growth as freshmen enrollment was lower, as expected, due to tighter admission requirements.

‘We feel it’s critical to manage our growth,’ said Vinita Sauder, vice president for Strategic Initiatives. ‘We’re excited to have more students on campus each year, but as we move forward the university wants to be very deliberate in shaping how we can provide the best education possible.'”
