The Church Wants to Know Your Sense of Its Mission Statement

The official church website is hosting a survey on the meaning of the Adventist mission statement. It is very brief and actually has some interesting multiple choice questions, such as:

How familiar are you with the Seventh-day Adventist Mission Statement (it’s not from Matthew 28:19-20)?
How comfortable would you be explaining the 3 Angels’ messages of Revelation 14?

I have no idea what they are going to do with this six-question instrument, but it appears to be a chance to make a little difference at the General Conference. Also, it states that if one provides an email address, the results will be shared.

Some time ago I was sitting in what quite possibly was the most boring church service I have ever been in. (No, I won’t tell you where I was.) There couldn’t have been more than 50 people in the sanctuary, and I’m being generous. We sang no less than 5 hymns. All hymns were sung in a dry, slow manner. The sermon seemed uninspired, barely prepared, and was presented with no sense of conviction. It felt like we were in church for three hours. We were in church for about 70 minutes.
