Hi, I am Kim Bomki, a Pioneer Mission Movement missionary from Korea, serving at Tsukuba Church in Japan. I thank you for your prayers concerning the great earthquake and tsunami that swept over Japan recently. Fear swept through us in the past three days, but now that the electricity and water system have been recovered, I am able to leave this message.

Now was the real difficult moment. Our area had been waterless for two days. All we had was one 500 ml bottle of water. What could we do? While I was thinking, I heard my wife praying in the kitchen. I prayed as I heard her pray. We didn’t even have enough water to make food for our newborn baby.

Religion Can Be Fun

Some time ago I was sitting in what quite possibly was the most boring church service I have ever been in. (No, I won’t tell you where I was.) There couldn’t have been more than 50 people in the sanctuary, and I’m being generous. We sang no less than 5 hymns. All hymns were sung in a dry, slow manner. The sermon seemed uninspired, barely prepared, and was presented with no sense of conviction. It felt like we were in church for three hours. We were in church for about 70 minutes.
